javamocha75 asked: My two cents on Holy Rollers.

Yes yes yes...I agree with you that Holy Rollers is huuuugely underrated. Really broke my heart to learn that the movie only grossed $ 300,000 while it cost 4 mills (if am not mistaken). Jesse and Bartha was sooo passionate about it, they spent two years to get the funding. Jesse even begged his sister to play a part in it, and lobbied other actors to take part in it, which one of them is Mark Ivanir (played his tateh).

And Justin Bartha...wow...I've seen him in other movies but I've never seen him this great. It's like he was born to play this role and I'd like to think that his chemistry with Jesse is the biggest chunk of it. Having read and watched all their interview together that I could find, clearly they adored each other.

However, the only flaw I could see in that movie is the missing link between this scene when Yosef told Sam to stay and wait for him, and the next scene is Sam wondering around town by himself...I didn't get ... like what happened? Where was Yosef?

This is the most beautiful thing. Yes, yes. The unbridled passion the cast had making this movie and in talking about it is wonderful. I saw some of the press before I saw the film and I had already become a fan of Jesse’s from TSN but the way he talked about it really made me want to see it even more. Honestly, I had no opinions on Justin Bartha at all… but he was great in this and his chemistry with Jesse is POTENT. I love them in interviews together or whenever they mention each other, it’s very sweet. And Jesse was so, so good in it that I can’t even say it enough. The film as a whole was alright, not as fun as Zombieland or Adventureland but an awesome character piece in which you could tell everyone involved was really invested so I loved it.

I couldn’t remember what you were talking about but then I remembered that I still had it on my hard drive! I just watched it (holy hell i want to rewatch the whole thing), and yeah I think I interpreted it as (spoiler for those planning to watch everever!) Sam realizing that Yosef’s way of fixing things is by running and Sam didn’t want that life. He may have realized right then what he had to do — which is how the movie ends. lol, trying to be less spoilery.
