300: Why are the Britta fans getting all high and mighty? It’s a show. Jesus. I hope all of the whiners do follow through on their plans to leave the show just so they’ll shut the hell up. You’re ruining the fun, people. Britta still has development and continuity- but suddenly it’s not Jeff’s role to run after her every episode and try to get with her, and now the show’s becoming a joke? Please. I like Britta but her stans are fast turning me off her.

Listen

  • Don’t make this about Jeff/Britta vs. Annie/Jeff, please. I think it’s safe to say that there are qualms regarding the show completely independent of (but including) Britta’s characterization — CHARACTERIZATION not shipping.
  • You can’t view the show as a fluff piece (it’s a show! just fun!) and then bitch and cry foul when it tragically doesn’t get nominated for Emmys and Golden Globes. It needs to earn that honor of even being qualified for any recognition but doing both of those things makes you a hypocrite.
  • The sad thing is that season one of Community was pretty brilliant. It was an ensemble show. There was warmth, heart, the characters were well rounded and not caricatures, the special episodes felt special because they weren’t overusing them, the show had a vision and didn’t let the fans influence it, etc, etc. It’s natural for people to be disappointed and upset at the turn in quality when there’s such an investment over something that was initially wonderful.
  • I hate when people use the “it’s just a show!” argument. How belittling. Like, my feelings and investments and opinions aren’t valid. Somehow it’s silly to care. Bro, we’re in fandom. Everyone is enthusiastic about what they love and what they hate. Including you, confessor.
